Gryphon® Product Line - Firmware Information
[Gryphon S3, Gryphon 2, S-CAT, S-CAT2, and Gryphon ]Note: We encourage you to upgrade your firmware to the most current release to benefit from fixed problems and new features. If you are having problems with your firmware release and the upgrade to the most current release does not fix your problem, or for previous firmware releases, contact Dearborn Group Customer Support for assistance.
The following firmware release resources are available.

Things you should know:
- For this document, the term 'hardware' refers to the Gryphon S3, Gryphon 2, S-CAT, Gryphon, and S-CAT2 products.
- You can identify the firmware currently installed on the hardware by viewing the internal Web Page, the front panel display (Gryphon 2 or Gryphon), or the About menu screen in Hercules (Choose Help -> About Hercules).
- When possible, the updater program will carry over the currently assigned TCP/IP settings, administration passwords, and system program configuration to the installed firmware.
- The Updater Program only supports upgrading from firmware version 20021008 or later. If you have an older release installed on your hardware, please contact Customer Support for assistance.
- As of 20070629 firmware, there is no longer a separate "Gateway" release. This functionailty has been included in all firmware variants.
Updater Program
( Firmware Release )
This program (rupclient.exe) is for Gryphon products. It is used to apply Firmware Releases when they become available. It also includes support to browse for, and identify, Zeroconf aware Gryphon hardware products on a network.

Updater Program:
20100820_Updater.zip - updater program for Gryphon 2, Gryphon S3, S-CAT, S-CAT2, and Gryphon products. (ZIP, 4,461K) This ZIP file contains the rupclient.exe and update_files.tgz files.Installation Procedure:
- Download the above Update Program file. Use a 'ZIP' extraction program to unzip the following two files.

Note: All update files must be in the same directory/folder. - Download the above applicable Firmware Update Component(s).

rupclient.exeUpdate Program. The Gryphon Flash Upload dialog is displayed with a default IP address of 192.168.1.1. If the hardware has been assigned another address, set this accordingly. You must also supply the system administration password. The factory supplied password is 'dggryphon'. - Select the desired Firmware Update Component as the Source File.
- Select the FLASH button. A Warning dialog is displayed. To continue with the update procedure, click Yes. The flash upload progress is reported in the bottom of the dialog.
CAUTION: Your firmware will be overwritten. Any files or settings that you want to preserve should be copied to a different location prior to upgrading your firmware.
Warning: You must manually reboot (power off, power on) the hardware immediately after the reflash procedure.
- After you reboot the hardware, visually confirm that the revised firmware release number is displayed in the LCD screen (Gryphon 2 or Gryphon only). You can also go to the hardware web page for this confirmation.
